Tipping Point Elections: RACE TO THE TOP

Double Digit Lead is the major head line in the upcoming November 4th elections. Just two days away until the citizens of Pennsylvania see a new Governor, according to Aaron Blake in "Tom Corbett's Poll Numbers are Epically Bad." Recent poll show that the probability that Wolf will beat Corbett is 99%.

So what does the Pennsylvania Governor do?
He takes a huge chance and turns to Halloween night to scare voters about Tom Wolf's agenda of raising income taxes. Does this ad mean that Governor is desperate for votes? If nothing else, the ad did improve Gov. Corbett gap between his challenger, Tom Wolf. There needs to be plethora of changes Corbett must do to make sure he still wins re-election. First, Gov. Corbett needs to change the opinion of voters of how they think about him. There is uncertainty in both parties on issues of income tax and public school education. Without a clear definite answers, the lesser know Wolf might be the new leader in Pennsylvania. Will Gov. Corbett's "Final Push" work in his favors, or will he be the first governor since 1974 to lose re-election in Pennsylvania?

What about Wolf? Wolf emerged from the dark at the right time. Gov. Corbett is not the only person who got publicity. President Obama tried to rejuvenate the current elections, by supporting Wolf's campaign. Not much is known about Wolf, but people began lining up to vote for him. Can Wolf's secrecy become his greatest asset?

The More Important Issue: Public School Education

When asked the question of increasing funding for K-12 education, Wolf amicable said yes, while Corbett was conflicted between the cuts and increase in education over time. Pubic Schools became a strong foundation for numerous students, but without funds, students will never have a chance for success. What does this mean for us, students? Well, we prefer that Wolf wins, but only a minority of students have turned 18 and are eligible to vote. The upcoming elections can hold many possibilities. The changes to come can affect families, schools, and funding.

May the odds be in your favor. Joel, Signing Off.
