Tipping Point Elections: Congressional Race

Will the Donkeys or Elephants win Capitol Hill?

The Republicans already hold the majority and predicted to continue its hold of the HOR and they are stomping their way to gain the majority of the Senate. But, the democrats are stubborn, just like any donkey, and they need to halt the Republican advance, look at the picture on the left to see their determination and animosity. If the Senate falls into the Republicans' trunks, then president Obama will be in check. Our ingenious government has made it so that a branch of government will not have more power over another branch.

The one problem that the GOP and liberals have been trying to do is pass laws. The HOR proposes a bill and votes on it, which Rand Paul said the Republicans will do, then it goes to the Senate, and if the bill is passed with majority "yea" votes, the president signs the bill to become a law. If the president does not sign the bill, veto, the Senate overrides the presidents veto with 2/3 votes, 66 "yea" votes, for it to become a law. Congress has the power to impeach the president, as said by Judge Napolitano and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, will do if GOP win power, even though Mr. Obama has done a lot for America, such as handling the Border crisis professionally and ensuring Obama Care. These Congressmen are apparently funded by old white people with money, according to the Nation, and show that the minority are not that rich, but that is capitalism. In Kansas, a Democrat decided to not run, but an Independent is predicted to beat the Republican incumbent. Shows that the liberals are getting desperate. But, this  is a race for majority power.

The Republicans only need 51 "yea" votes to pass a bill and to gain the majority of the Senate requires 51 seats. To hold the majority of the HOR a total of 218 seats out of the total 435 seats are needed to pass a bill and hold majority. Republicans may hold the majority of the Senate, but not enough to override. The GOP may need to wait a few decades before being able to take the majority of the Senate, as every 2 years a third of the Senate is up for re-election,while the HOR has all the seats up for re-election. I learned quite a lot about majority powers, how laws could be passed more efficiently if you hold the majority, and how checks and balances start to fail if the majority gets too strong, James Madison. If the Republicans hold Congress, our government will be grid-locked, but in the end the congressmen are doing what they view best for America.
